Folks have said that Mooney didn't use and Mooney has even admitted it. His running joke was out of the 70s click that he and richard ran with he made so much money because they would do lines and he would just steal the rolled up 100 dollars bills to put in his pocket.
Dude been sick the last 3 or 4 years with cancer. So he forgets lines and his speech is now slow.
If you saw him back in say 2011 man dude was still on point.

He does do a lot of the same jokes but that's normal for most comedians that come from his era
He's in the top 5 realist comedians of all time. He's not as racist as his act. He knows what buttons to push. He was married to a white woman before and he discovered Sandra Bernhard.

Over the years I heard a lot of people that wasnt hardcore Pryor fans try to discredit Pryor because Mooney helped him write a lot... but what they don't realize is 97% of Pryor's act wasn't an act at all it was all about things he really went through in his personal life. What Mooney did was help Pryor put his life stories in joke form. Mooney was more of co writer for Pryor when it came to tv shows and movies.
