I'm probably between 30-40 more paychecks before I can retire.

End of April this year will be check 26.

My retirement calculator gives me a 94% chance of not running out of money in 30 years based on my current NW and spending habits.

Thats down from 100% on Christmas Eve when my accounts were at ATH'S.

Been putting out feelers of going PT at my job vs straight up retirement for the past 3 months.

Well see how it goes.

Congrats to you man

The end is apparently in site. Do you plan on downsizing or just living how you currently do now and coasting?

Army Reserves retirement, VA disability, and two or three rental properties. My current two homes will be paid off in 20 years. I’ll be pushing 60.

Hopefully I can cop one more home and do a 20 year mortgage. Finally build my retirement home in Belize and have it paid off by before I retire.

Ideally, I want to quite working at 60. Realistically, why not go to 62 and take out SS (if we have one) early.

If I were smart, I’d get a GS job right now and do twenty. I’ve applied to 60 spots and no interview. Had two referrals though so I’m doing something right.

I have a roommate now. Eventually, Ill have to get my own spot.

Other than insurance, thats my biggest reason for going PT 1st.

Ill need some form of income to eventually buy a place or move into an apartment without digging into my investments for a down-payment, or some form of collateral.

My car is 10+ yrs old too. Id like to still be drawing an income and have my new car paid, or mostly paid off before relying solely on my investments for my day to day bills.

I have monthly meetings with friends/ colleagues to discuss investment strategies and options.

Personally, I do the below:
Maxing out 401k
Annuity's working hard
Have MMAs, CDs & HYSAs w/ proper APR

Drives a 20 year old car & shops at thrift stores from time to time with zilch fukks.

Plan to setup a Roth IRA tho.

Personal goal: Retire with a paid off home, earning minimum $10k+ in interest & dividends monthly (reinvested) and living off SS (projected at $6k/ monthly, which is too much for me). Then die; leaving funds to pay off debts of my family allowing them to be "free."

Appreciate this thread.

I have been making out my 401K since the moment I made six figures
I drive a 2013 and have zero car payments
I live way below my means, my biggest expense is rent (my mistake for not buying a house)
I got laid off in tech and decided to drop every dime in the stock market, I am doing very well with my two self manage accounts..I am up 220 percent in one account
I am high risk, high reward, I am invested across several companies with enough shares to gain everything I put in the market if one stock is successful. Being a shareholder and investing in the right company I feel is the future to financial freedom for me.
