It could literally be anything. I am hoping for actual unreleased material and not just stuff floating around...but the first one was pretty much just remastered shyt we heard.

Here's what I think may be likely

Wonder if he ever did an unauthorized biography of KRS like he said he would on ubr.

Wonder if he ever did that song for his son that he said he would after "daughters" came out.

I don't expect or need the original ether.

Feel free to speculate

I honestly think this Lost Tapes will be mostly songs that we haven't heard or some hq versions of fan favorites that never made an album i.e. "Rise & Fall", but I think even that's highly unlikely since Nas has been sitting on 6 years of material between Life Is Good and Nasir. With the original Lost Tapes, he was putting out albums every two years on average. If he goes back pre 2012/2013, he has:

-an entire album of material that was cut from Street's Disciple. Reviewers had a copy of Street's Disciple that is different from the retail. "Get Up", the sequel to "Get Down" was on it. There's also "Serious", which leaked and "Talk of NY", which also leaked.

-songs from God's Son we will never hear due to him destroying the sessions. "Honeymoon Is Over (My Will)" leaked (need this no DJ in HQ) and "Ridin Broke" actually came out. "F Hot", Crabs InA Barrell", the original Trackmasters version of "Hey Nas" , and "Curtains" remain unreleased.

- 5 will.i.am songs that didn't make HHID that Nas said were better than anything on the album. "The World Is A Ghetto" ended up on Game's Documentary 2.1. There's also "NY Stomp", "You Mean The World To Me" (a Kanye track that leaked but sounds unfinished)

- "The Scientist" produced by Just Blaze

- an Alchemist track, a will.i.am track, 4 DJ Toomp tracks, and some leaks that didn't make Untitled. There's some more Jay Electronica piano interludes and work with stic.man ("America's Top Brothel").

- the title track for Life Is Good

Then there's post 2012 material like:

- work with Timbaland ("Sinatra In The Sands") and other songs

- an album with Swizz

- work with Large Professor, The Beatminerz, and No I.D.

- work with Reefa and possibly J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League

Exactly.

Only thing is I think NY Stomp and the Scientist are the same song because Nas mentioned earlier it was a Just Blaze produced song and the only song Blaze has ever mentioned working with Nas directly on was The Scientist.

Theres also a few other songs from HHID that never came out (White Man’s Paper, A Primo produced track, a track where Nas says “fukk Haters, fukk nikkas, fukk bytches” on the chorus)

Nas did a buuunnncchhhhh of work during the Def Jam era, he was productive as hell on the recording tip.

Also there is a Pete Rock produced track that was recorded specifically for Lost Tapes 2 (Def Jam era)

Statik Seletah has been on record saying that he has a few Nas tracks sitting around and I really wouldn't be surprised if Green Lantern didn't have a few.

From the later Sony days, there was a song called "Spastic" and one called "Memories" which is the using that Alicia Keys track that Kanye's weird ass did. He could still have the work he did over that Many Men beat. He also had that one with Puffy, "I am Somebody". There was a short youtube vid with this one it at one time.

One concern I have though is whether Nas is going to go all out for sample clearances. How far will he go so far to clear samples for some of the older songs? Sample clearances were probably the reason why lots of this stuff never made it out in the first place. I wish we could get an official release of Be a ****** too. My shyt was "High", "True Dialect", "Hope" and I swear I wish he would take the Bravehearts out of "Never Too Late" and whoever that was that was in "Sometimes I wonder".

Remember this

Fetus had a sample that was taken out of the lost tapes version.

... and I'm cool with that in order to get the songs. I know that sometimes, samples clear but just not in time for the album release.

I too, am expecting the Def Jam Lost Tapes from 2010 plus stuff from after 2010. I'd be surprised if we get anything pre-Def Jam.

Strong Chance (Maybe)
Snitch Alibi
Who Are You
Colors
Top Down
What It Is

Doubtful

Cops Keep Firing
The Fear

Finger Crossed
NY Stomp (The Scientist)
Be ****** Too

Honestly I have no idea. Like you said it could be anything. I really am hoping for the Jay and Just Blaze joint. I'm hoping for an AZ feature in there. Maybe something with Premier or Alchemist. I heard he maybe recorded over a Dilla beat or two. That would be great to hear.

I don't think it will be bad but the first is maybe a top 10 personal favorite album of all time (yes I'm calling it an album) so I'm keeping my expectations low for this, and hopefully I'll enjoy it. I don't expect it to sound anything like or be nearly as good as the first one. But it's Nas, so it should at least be a good project.

there wasn't any features on the first one, so I kinda assume that'll be the case here too. probably easier paperwork

I would love HQ mastered versions of 'Deja Vu' 'Life Is Like A Dice Game' 'Worst Enemy' 'Second Coming' 'Rise & Fall' 'Amongst Kings' -- if we get ANY of those I'll be happy with it off top.

also always wanted to hear 'No Such Thing As White Jesus' with Frank Ocean, and 'White Mans Paper' with Damian Marley

also I know this one will just never actually happen, and def not on a Lost Tapes, but, I really want a HQ mastered version of the unreleased 'Desperados' with his verse. Cant believe they took him off multiple songs on The Firm album.

It would be dope if he dropped a mixtape with all the unclearable samples, and all the "less worthy" of officially releasing but still classic shyt, or just let them leak for the people in HQ.
