112 was considered a "group". i don't ever remember that term bein' used for them
boy bands were like new kids on the block --- late 80's/early 90's boy band (those guys were really the blueprint for the backstreet boys, nsync, 98 degrees etc)
This girl sounds (and only sounds,not making a full on comparison) like Janet Jackson/Paula Abdul in the late 80's/early 90's. She hinted that Janet is her biggest inspiration:
