I finished 40 million dollar slaves a lil while ago... that turned a free heads in public right now i'm on a grief recovery book (i dealt with some shyt some years back I ain't realize was STILL REALLY affecting me... seeing a kids die right in front of me in an accident, my sister being murdered, etc).but I haven't been reading it like I should cuz well... its tough

I'm trying to change my reading habits this summer and finally work through six books a month or so I'm gonna pick something random out the shelf and start

I'm tryna do something kinda similar but it's not all within a month. I got 5 books I'm reading.

1. Great War for Civilisation
2. Re-reading Wretched of the Earth
3. Banker to the Poor
4. The Refugee
5. Daddy Cool

So I got mostly non-fiction but I added a novel to balance it out. A lot of heavy reading but it'll still be there if I don't read it so better to build that intellect.

Do we have an official "What are you reading now?" thread in HL?

I feel like I've posted in it before, but I didn't find it w/ a cursory search.

Nonetheless: I just finished The Martian by. Andy Weir (started it and ran through it in the same day, was really clean writing); and The Chief by Joan Biskupic.

Just started The Undying by Anne Boyer (about breast cancer, a unique analysis); and picked up Cloud Atlas by. David Mitchell, American's Reluctant Prince by. Steven Gillon, and Swing Time by. Zadie Smith.

I've also got Solitary by. Alfred Woodfox in the queue and The Yellow House by. Sarah Broom in the queue as well.

Reading always feels more fulilling that social media use, so if I replace that hour with an hour of leisure reading, I'll feel more pumped to get other things done.
