Between the two Money > Fame. There's no freedom in fame. Pocket watchers like to point out those incredibly wealthy, generally white, guys who don't (openly) spend money on gaudy stuff as examples of frugality or humility or whatever when all they're doing is being free. They can buy a giant yacht today and cheap flip flops tomorrow and it won't matter because they aren't burdened by people's expectations. Famous people get caught up having to act in a manner consistent with their status and what people expect of them. Future couldn't even tell people that he's clean. fukk all of that I want to live my life. Money is equally as dangerous if you prioritise it beyond using it to meet your needs and wants.

Everyone says money and initially I lean that way as well. It depends on the amounts of each.

There is something to be said about fame though. Nobody gets more chances than the famous and in today’s world where famous people are damn near worshipped, the ability to leverage your fame continuously to make money might be worth more than just a lump sum :manny:

Fair point. But aren't you clearly still prioritising money though? Fame is just a vehicle at that point. Would your end game be to step away from the public eye after reaching a certain level of wealth or to attempt to keep accumulating?

This shouldn't even be a question... Social media and the internet made fame artificial; it became quantified and not qualified.

Money all the way. Picture having enough money to wake up whenever you want. That's it.

A lot of people say they want to be rich, but what they really mean is that they want to be famous....

FAME COMES WITH SERIOUS DRAWBACKS AND SERIOUS REWARDS. MONEY AMPLIFIES THOSE THINGS.

MONEY COMES WITH SERIOUS DRAWBACKS AND SERIOUS REWARDS. FAME AMPLIFIES THOSE THINGS.

WITH THAT BEING SAID, NO WAY I WOULD WANT TO BE FAMOUS. I LIKE BEING SOMEWHAT INVISIBLE TO PEOPLE.

Money most days....fame sometimes just for free shyt and for my opinion to matter...ppl only listen to u if u are on a screen...phone, tv etc...I can say something profound and it won't matter..if someone famous takes what I say and says it the world would look at em like God...

I don't know if this current soft and weak society that we live in right now is going to last in it's same form, but I feel what mr. Snifles said about almost wanting to be invisible. It's kind of like the fame would be lovely at first, but then it would become a huge burden, especially nowadays since everyone pays attention to your every move and cameras are more prevalent than ever before.

These birds love famous dudes though, and I do love these birds. That's why it's important to get enough money to, once you get up close to them and let them know what you're about, they'll see how the money outweighs the fame, (and the ones that don't, then you just cut them loose.).

Great question. And in my initial response I wrote that I would lean toward money (I think most sane people over 25 would)

All I was saying is that a point can be made for fame because having a famous name can be a money printing machine :manny:

Having a famous name nowadays also makes you more of a target than ever before however. I'm not sure if the positives outweigh the negatives.

As a youngin if you would have told me that famous people would be getting found guilty of crimes left and right in 2019 then I would have never believed it.

True, if they're guilty then it's good that they're being found guilty, but before it seemed like fame was an added security that they had that would make them immune to prosecution.

MONEY. Only way I would take fame is if it was specific towards a particular audience. Stephen King is famous but unless you were a hardcore fan of his books you wouldn't know who he was if he was standing right next to you in the line of Starbucks.

Being famous has it's perks. Humanitarians that want to help the greater kind of humanity. Scientists producing vaccines to prevent future illnesses and diseases. Inventors innovating tech and science. Musicians putting their art to be discovered etc. The list goes on.

Before social media, your skills would catapult you into notoriety. Whether it was sports, math, science, art, music, geography, technology, comedy or any noteworthy field. This would give you verified status as a leader in society.

Nowadays, you can be famous just off Tik Tok and Instagram. For example, Khaby Lame became famous for not talking and showing his hands

Anyone can be viral for anything nowadays.

There's also a con to fame, think of leaders who used their influence to harm other humans. Hitler, King Leopold, etc.

Rappers using black genocide in their lyrics to influence the black youth

Being rich and lowkey >>>

When you're rich and nobody knows you, you're less of a target. You don't have to worry about the media, paparazzi or tabloids using defamation to mentally destroy you. You don't have to worry about pleasing others. Only person you please is yourself. The smart move being rich is not wearing your wealth.
Dress basic and casual.
