It's about some bad ass kid who gets sent to his room by his mom, then takes a sailboat to a lost land where there are beasts that snarl and growl and flash their teeth..he soon becomes friends with the beasts and they party all nite..I haven't read it since I was kid..but you should get it for your kids and also get rikki tikki tavi...it's about a mongoose that fights a cobra..shyts dope
