yall seriously dont be reading any literature, novels, fiction, poetry, plays etc

just nonfiction huh:pachaha:

I'm bad at it I'll be honest. I have read some novels but I need to read more. Some non fiction is good like history. I recently read a book called Ametora: How Japan Saved American Style. It was a really good read.

One of my favorite pieces of fiction is On The Road by Jack Keuorac. Invisible Man is amazing.

Next book I read I think should be a novel though lol.

aint nothin wrong with that, I just always find it funny in a thread like this. People only ever post about how they are reading some self help/non fiction/ history book.. and only those types.

i read some to, but i can find that to boring to constantly read those

plus being that I write, i find it very limiting to just stick to those books and not expand. I try to read everything whether its nonfiction, fiction, Poetry, plays, novella, prose, etc

Fiction certainly allows your brain to think in different perspectives and use your imagination far more than 'facts'. I used to think that fiction didn't offer anything to me. I was ignorant. Even something like The Kite Runner allowed me to learn about Russian occupied Afghanistan or the Haraza people within that region all while serving as a backdrop of a story that resonated with me on a human level. Plus they are enjoyable to read and also improve not only your linguistic skills but also allow you to express yourself better.

I've read more 'classic' novels like 1984, Brave New World, Slaughterhouse Five, There Eyes Are Watching God, Invisible Man, etc.

You're making me want to read one of my fiction books after I finish the ones in front of me!

The Delectable Negro
The Delectable Negro (Sexual Cultures)

My girl put me on. Waiting for her to finish.
Shyt is crazy.
White people are evil.

It was. Good but crazy book though. Again, whites are demonic - eating people and making clothes out of people.

How you feel about them trying to imply Frederick Douglass was sexually violated by Covey?

Most scholars view his comments about the incident as "metaphorically raped" -- but in Deletable Negro -- they imply he was physically raped.
