Right now I'm reading "Near to the Wild Heart" by Clarice Lispector (woman in my avy). I'm about 95% done with it (reading it on my kindle) and all that I can say is that with my amount of experience in reading, it's hard to get, but at times when I read it high I'm easily drawn into the emotions of the main character, a young woman named Joana. The book is about Joana's life. How her father dies and she goes to live with her aunt and uncle, her marriage and how it fails, but in a sense for the better. The title itself goes hand-in-hand with Joana and her emotions, she's simply not normal, but in a beautiful way; she's as free as a wild horse. The book is enjoyable, but often runs off on tangents that can at times leave an inexperienced reader like myself confused; needless to say, you're going to get a mental workout. Something that must be said though is that this is Lispectors first book, it was written by when she was 19, published when she was 23, and is considered a classic amongst many brazilians, as well as other fans of literature. Although I find the book difficult at times, it's totally understandable why Lispector is celebrated as one of the best writers in brazil/the world.
