i'm going to college locally and i don't know what to really do. i just got signed up for Business by my guidance counselor, when i gave her my application. i'm not really good at math, even basic math which is very disappointing, and thought about cheating on my accuplacer/placement exam but i decided not to because even though i won't get credit for developmental math courses, i can still learn and try to see if i can benefit from finally learning. i hope somebody helps cause i don't want to be a failure to my parents and i want to be successful and move them out of the hood..

not much, just start saving up your money and make sure your credit is straight and open up a franchise of some sort after you graduate

if you want an actual job you should go for an MBA

Try to minor in something more practical like accounting. It would make your Business degree and resume stronger.

If you're doing business, Accounting or Finance is where it's at. A general business degree has some value but not nearly as much. Might as well do Marketing at that point.

Correct. Make sure you have a concentration in something. I would suggest Finance, Accounting or Computer Information Systems. A CIS concentration pays well right off the bat and you can always get certs for better pay in IT.

A general BBA is not a good choice.

As someone else mentioned, after you have a good 4 years worth of experience, get an MBAs so you can really cash in.

As far as your poor math skills, don't sweat it too much. Take the developmental courses and really learn the basics. Math is not hard at all once you have the basics down and you put in the work. Take it from me, I got Cs in math in high school because our schools sucked and I didn't really care about grades too much. The year prior to college I took a developmental course in Math to work on my basics.

When I got to college, I got nothing but As in all my math courses and graduated with an overall 3.7 GPA.

Good Luck.

Business math is not too hard so don't worry...but you should major in something that is in demand

If they have MIS try that...

If you're not great with math you may want to avoid the finance concentration. It can get a bit advanced.

I would recommend an accounting concentration if your math skills are subpar.
