The powers that be in the industry, cacs, & of course you'll be viewed as crazy when you go against the grain..

She still dope, fukk what u think

The pressure, allegations coming out that she didn't write her album, relationship drama with Wyclef, the band falling apart

Pretty much this, on top of the fact that she may suffer from illusory superiority.

Well from what I read and heard on here, the major success of her first album (She made any others after that?) came from a little known group of musicians/ghostwriters or some shyt that she never gave credit to. So the success of having this album being so heralded, the fame she already done had from the FUGEES and being able to finally step out of Wycliffe's Solo shadow fueled her egomania and she started feeling herself a bit too much.

I'm willing to bet that Lauryn was not easy to work it. Her Appollo performance is telling. She heard all those boos and just keep singing until people loved it. She probably had the same mindset everywhere. People telling her something and her not listening to it.

I'm just speculating tho:manny:

I saw her last July and she was excellent. I think she's out of it mentally and probably has suffered from high expectations, plus resounding disapproval from fans when she finally did put out new stuff (Unplugged).

Remember, she was VERY young, also the only woman on her level (Grammys etc) when she really rose to prominence (teens/early 20s) so that surely was difficult while also dealing with drama. She couldn't deal.

you're lucky. Seen her twice, and both times were disappointing. Last one was fairly recent, around 3 or 4 years ago.
