My brother is living out there right now... last time I visited, all I could see was construction and new businesses popping up everywhere. He started out as a vallet... he’s now managing a limo fleet making cheddar on the side importing Chinese products AND mining crypto (the energy is cheap AF down there)... he just got his own condo in one of those clean gated complexes... all retirees n shieet... living the quite hustle life rn.

Vegas is growing..

Edit: I’ve been through almost every major city in this country and spent time there... Vegas the new frontier

Me and wifey been thinking about making the move down there in the next year. Went down there couple months ago and her folks was living good.

I’m tired of living in super expensive Vancouver and want to come back to the States.

Also i respect OP cause to me personally moving to mid size cities SHOULD BE the wave now days.

Moving to NYC, LA, San Fran, Boston, Seattle or any other crazy expensive city makes no sense to me if you ain’t already caked up or connected.

Growing cities is the new wave.

Look at ABQ New Mexico.

Cheap, beautiful area. Not that many black people but there is enough and you are close to PHX/Den/TX/Vegas.
Do not I repeat DO NOT do this. I was stationed at Kirkland and stayed in Rio rancho. If you wanna throw hands with cacs and messicans trying to be cool by calling you a nikka, have chicks not fukk with you cause you a nikka, or people just not fukk with you at all cause you a nikka then move there. It's the most racist place I've ever lived. Twisters and Blake's are good though

I can't tell you what the cheapest city to live in is but I can tell you about my experience living in Vegas. I moved there from LA to get my masters at UNLV and was there from 2013-2016. I stayed in some apartments behind the palms casino and paid like 600 for rent. You might be able to find cheaper places but I paid a little more to live in a nicer spot by the strip.

Most of the people in the city are from other places and are just there to make money. There's not a bunch of jobs outside of stuff on the strip but some of the strip jobs do pay well. Vegas is very small and it seems like everybody somehow knows everybody so you have to get your networking on to get a good job. I know before some of the casinos changed their valet rules u had valet cats making 60k+ a year due to the tips. Girls out there can make a killing(100k+) working at the clubs as bottle girls but those jobs are hard to come by and competition is fierce. I can't stress enough how important it is to network out there...

A bunch of people move out there because it is cheap so if you move to the wrong place you'll live next to a bunch of hood ass nikkas who will rob ur ass. I say pay a little more money to live in one of the safer communities or your shyt will get broken into.

I enjoyed living next to the strip and would go there often. It's nothing like knowing that you have a place you can go any weekend and have some fun shyt to do. A lot of locals don't go that often but once you know the back streets and what casinos to park at ur good. I would go to this drink spot called Fat Tuesdays, have them put a bunch of extra shots in my drink and walk around interacting with drunk muthafukkas.

Also if you're trying to start a business Vegas is a bomb ass spot to do so. Real estate is hella cheap so you can easily have a physical location up and running very quickly. Also the gun laws are very good. You can get all types of weapons out there with no problem. Another random thing is that shyt stays open hella late out there. They have a bunch of 24 hour grocery stores and other shyt since people in Vegas work weird shifts since the casinos never close.

Overall I'd say it's a cool place if you plan on opening a business or if you understand that you'll be working on the strip unless you have a specialized trade that's in demand like nursing, IT, etc. It's really just a place to stack money and get real estate for cheap.

What Valet rules changed? I know some folks that said you can make good money off a tips?

That’s not the case anymore?

im thinking of Phoenix because I already know ppl there

But Vegas is cheaper and more of a weird place
And has more Black people

I’m trying to do research

I’d prefer a city with a lot of Blacks
New Orleans is cheap but barely any jobs

I sent out apps to Dallas and Houston
Check out Hampton Roads area, Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Yorktown, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Newport News, Williamsburg.
There are government bases and the shipyard there which help the economy. There are a couple universities.
