Brown is the better player despite being less athletic. Some guys just ball and of story. I once knew a former linemen who could dominate ANY position in a pick up or semi pro game.I'm talking qb, wr or Rb dude could play em all. Not the most in shape of athletic guy but he just knew and loved the game. Some guys just got more football skills. Look at larry Fitzgerald's career despite being classified as slow based on a 40 time...
Fitz ran a 4.48 which for a nikka that’s 6’3, 220 isn’t slow at all. I think you’re thinking of Anquan Boldin who ran a 4.71

Stuff like route running and knowledge of defenses and how to work them do differentiate receivers.

Hand eye coordination and hand strength. Most guys unless they burn the DB or there wide open they just average. You can blanket AB and if ben throws a good ball It's getting caught. That TD basket catch when he was on the left side on a full Sprint with his hands fully extended and running out of room in the end zone is what separates the Holmes from the ABs. Most guys lose focus when the DB extends their hands guys like AB and OBJ don't flinch.
Being able to track the football is such an underrated skill. But it’s not just tracking it but doing so in a way that the DB doesn’t even know the ball is coming until it’s too late. Some guys put their hands up too early which allows the dB to be able reach in between their hands and block it

Holmes has a SB ring along with one of the all time great catches in NFL history

Antonio Brown has a lot of dance moves and empty stats :francis:
:mjlol:AB is consistent as hell becuase he puts in the work and he can run routes. If there's room to get free he's getting free even if he has to come out of the slot and run away from a premier CB. You can only do that if you know all 3-4 WR positions

Off topic but Santonio Holmes last played in 2014 and my guy Ted Ginn is out here still catching TDs.

I almost can’t believe it. Breh went from having rock hands to an 11+ year nfl career.

Ted Ginn has legitimate world class speed..... even at this stage, he's still THAT much faster than people.

And body control.. AB works the sideline, maneuvers tight spaces, and outduels defenders for 50/50 passes better than anyone his size I've ever seen. He has absolutely impeccable control

It's ain't as simple as looking at the measureables, breh.

Now it doesn't hurt to be athletic, strong, and fast. It is a great asset. :hubie:

Football skill, Heart, intelligence, preparation in working on your craft (route running) and the ability to complete at the highest level when it matters most with the game on the line?

Wonder how those considered the best players stack up against others in the league at their position, in terms of combine stats? :jbhmm:

Taking care of your body is also a key to have longevity.
