The funny thing is that Kendrick has never been an activist rapper or taken many direct political stances. His music has largely been personal. Which is why Drake's comment was clearly a glimpse of his own white mentality. When you hear conscious raps and dismiss them as slave raps it tells me that you're a cac who cannot approach race without self destructing, mentally. The same way a lot of white people have decided that any mention or acknowledgement of race is racism. It's a panic response, deep rooted in confusion and anger.
