China can hurt this country through economics. They don't need a war.

We can hurt them through economics :pachaha:

Half the Chinese economy hinges on us sending them work.

And one thing that demoncrat Sleepy Joe showed is that an American president is more than willing to risk inflation and higher prices to take an enemy off the board.

China better watch their step before we crash their economy.

True but this would probably trigger a world war and the thoughts of that are :hamster:

I honestly dunno breh. People have been saying this or that will trigger a world war for years now it seems. Russia invading Ukraine. The US assassinating that Iranian general. Russia and the West basically fighting each other in Syria. Russia moving in former French colonies in Africa The way things are set up now I honestly don't know if we're really have another world war in this century, I feel like a lot of things should change before that. We'll probably "just" have a variety of more/less low intensity long protracted conflicts here and there rather than one big all-engaging global conflict. Way too much at stake and way too many humanity-ending weapons out there now.

It would literally be a World War considering the United States is part of NATO.

I think both countries are pump faking, Chinese and US economies are interdependent. China just isn't that reckless, you can tell a lot about a country/civilization especially one as old as China by looking at it's origin and how it conducted itself in it's most powerful cycles. Historically when China have been very powerful, they expand economically and create large trade routes (old silk road). What are they doing today? The exact same thing making the rest of the world dependent on them while striving to be self sufficient. They don't have a history like the anglo saxon and arab cultures of seeking destroy other countries in a war to directly subjagate them. Any potential War in China's future will be about their immediate geographic region and claims to the smaller nations around them.
Any book recommendations on this?

Yeah yeah we've heard this "WW3 is around the corner" story for years now. In real life, nothing has happened yet. And that's probably one of the reasons. People really think China is stupid. It's more likely the US start getting itchy trigger fingers as per usual and strike first, and even that is unlikely.

Obviously I'm speaking of a scenario where China starts the war and not the United States. If that happens that's s World War and that's an undeniable fact.

Well, we'll see. As I said, the US has been in some kind of war damn near its entire existence, so history tells y'all way more likely to start a war than whoever you're fighting against. I mean that's just US imperialism. And anyhow and anyway, in real life NOTHING has happened to even be talking about a Chinese agression, let alone WW3.

You say that until they get the Russia treatment and western nations start pulling industries out of the country en masse. Cheap labor that produces decent quality isn't hard to find.
Interesting but disagree unless you can offer a different point. We rely on China heavily on manufacturing. I don't think finding cheap labor in other countries is all that simple considering cooperation with other governments is needed. As another posted said China would hurt themselves but we would be impacted to.

But they rely on our consumer base, so they would end up hurting themselves 10x worse
IMO the hurt would be mutual. During the early days of Covid we saw hospitals quickly reporting shortages of of masks and gloves and that resulted because China was slowing delivery them.
