China knows just like every nation that resources in the future are going to be hard to come by. China is easily the biggest buyers of most commodities and will have to keep up that pace of consumption. Climate change makes this a tough proposition but the BRI is a good way to lock up other country's resources as a cache.
see, what China is learning that the USA had to learn...was that unless you're dropping bodies, no one respects you.
Thats why all Russia can do is hand out AK's to developing nations and use that leverage to back up dictators.
So china can slide in after the USA has laid shyt down...or Russia has... and China doesn't give a flying fukk about civil rights, which these anti-American types SHOULD care about, especially tribal and sexual minorities. etc.

Look at what China did to Jamaica. Jamaica did NOT benefit from that shyt...but the USA didn't do it so everyone is silent.
