i've never seen people try to big him up as anything beyond a flashy ass pg who was fun to watch.

unless you think calling him decent or solid or something is too much praise.

He was a garbage point guard during his Kings days. Inefficient, high TO prone, couldn't run a halfcourt offense & was one of the worst defenders in the League. He literally held back the Kings for 3 years.

He's overrated because he's remembered more for his Kings days when he was a terrible player (no exaggeration), not his Memphis stint when became a solid PG.

When I was younger I thought he was the best thing since sliced bread.

But now that I understand the game,I realize he was solid but not great.

He was great for the highlights but the minute he got dealt for Bibby the squad took off, he wasn't under control at all when he was young. Def respect the player he grew into as he got older tho

As a Kings fan who saw him play in person, he deserves a lot of credit for putting Sacramento on the map . Yes, Mike Bibby was an upgrade, but J-Will made the Kings a household name during the late 90s, early 2000s.
