Album was aight.

Didn't like the fact he felt like need to mention he was molested on the album.

Why can't he open up pause? :scust:
To me, It felt uncomfortable hearing a man in his ladder 40's mentioning he was molested, came off as being weak IMO.

If you gonna admit something like that do by your 2nd or 3rd album get that out the way quickly.

But of course I'm not in Common's shoes I guess he felt that was the right time for him.

This type of goofy shyt is why black boys and later black men don’t speak up. The idea that someone is weak for speaking up about being molested only serves to protect abusers.

Men are expected to take it to the grave. That’s some bullshyt. It’s never too late for the truth to come out.

We should be commending victims for being brave enough to speak about it at any point in their lives, not shaming them

Common is one of my favorite rappers ever but I’ll say everything after Nobody’s Smiling (honestly, starting with that album) has been a blur to me. He’s still such a good rapper but somebody mentioned he’s made “presidential inauguration music” for years now and I can’t un-hear that :laff: He needs to pay Hit-Boy or Westside Gunn a visit.

After Nobody's Smiling, his music has been pretty weak, to me.

Com is probably in my Top 10 MC's of all-time, but he seems to have aimed for a different sound since 2015, that just hasn't resonated with me, at all. Sh*t ain't hittin'. His dopest sh*t always felt effortless. His more recent projects feel like he's trying. He needs to holla at two legendary boom-bap producers and just let them oversee a new album, for him. Maybe like Nottz and Madlib. That lane. So he can get back to greatness, and stop putting out this elevator music.
