Yeah the value of the cards I have is less than it was 10 years ago, but I got some cards I'm holding on to for future reference. By the time I'm 50, some of the cards I got should fetch decent money surely. All those MJ cards, Peyton Manning, Kobe, AI, KG, Griffey, Shaq rookie cards. Thats just off the top of my head. Those cards will be worth money in 20 years...maybe not like a Honus Wagner card but surely something

:to: I still don't like to talk about it. I had 8 Big Ass Binders and 9 boxes the size you keep office files in full cards. I had been collecting them from 88-02. I had moved out my parents house and didn't have enough room for everything so I kept them there. They decided to sell the house so I got a lil storage garage and was going to take them there. Went to my parents house and someone had broken in and taken all of them. So many rookie cards, inserts, complete sets. I told myself I was gonna use them cards to send my son to college.

Oh well, took that L like man. I haven't had the heart to give a shyt about sport cards since. Whenever my son ask if I ever collected in any basketball cards I just :snoop:

i have a shyt load of cards, Walter Payton, MJ rookie, Shaq, Ken Griffey Jr, Barry Bonds rookie, all kind of shyt. Back then, I think the MJ rookie was trading in the thousands - now the best i can probably get is in the hundreds.

Crazy how we got suckered into this shyt as children :manny:

I tried to break this down to an old roommate of mine a few years ago.

Me: You know them cards ain't worth shyt now

Roommate: What? No way dude. No fukking way. I have a Barry Bonds rookie card right now in a box that's gonna be worth tons! :smugdraper:

Me: Fool. If I had a Barry Bonds rookie card right now and I was gonna sell it to you for $5 would you take it off my hands and let this shyt take up space in your house? What about a nickel? Take a fukking Barry Bonds rookie card off my hands for a nickel. Would you? Baseball cards ain't worth the paper they're printed on man.:birdman:

Still got them in binders. Most are still in great condition. I wonder if this one still has any value.

I got rid of all my cards during the turning point of when they became invaluable. I had 100's of the old 80's/90/s cards that i sold to a card shop for $105. I did a count of how much they were today and it adds up to about $60 :heh:

Although i did have one kobe rookie card that went for $30

Used to love sports cards, I think I have a lot in my basement still. I used to steal a ton of them off this little collectibles store, they went outta business a while ago.

I got lots of Jordan cards and Shaq from his Magic days as well as some of Magic Johnson's cards. I would have thought I would be a thousandaire by now with all the cards I used to collect. I still won't throw them away though cause you never know when they will turn around and end up being valuable.

I stopped collecting years ago, when they started making 400 fukking brands every year and it became impossible to keep up with.

I have most of Kobe's rookie cards, but I'm still missing a few of the alternates. There's a few rare ones of his I still want to get, but I'm not in a rush.

Just for the fuk of it, I might by a box of cards for around $30-$40 just to capture that joy I had opening them, which is the best part, like I was a kid again.

This thread making me pissed with all of the basketball cards I have from '89-97. I got some baseball & football cards from the 80s-90s that I thought would be worth something too now.

Oh well, I still got a lot of NBA mementos from the 90s (programs, pins, posters, etc) Probably just save them for my man cave when I get a house :manny:
