What was your opinion of the aesthetics, beats, lyricism, subject matter, dances, cars and popularity? What is your opinion overall of the south during that time?

In my hometown (Detroit) we liked most of it. However, my mother is from Birmingham Alabama and my father was from Forest City Arkansas a lot of my friends had origins in the South so we didnt view most of them as bamas or country bumpkins. The Ghetto Boys, Outkast and a group called Succes N Effect were some of my favorites.

then i got my hands on limewire..the rest was history :banderas: - - this was the time the beef 1/2/3 documentaries were dropping too, midnight club put me on to some of the shyt as well

i even had the sittin' sidewayz hook as one of my ringtones :mjlol:

they didn't sound like they dropped out of the 3rd grade at 12 years old like alot of southern artists did. Plus 3 Stacks is highly educated with high IQ.

Dead Prez is/was southern. TI and Ludacris didn't sound slow either.

I think the industry would often purposely promote "dropouts" on purpose most times.
