What did you think of HBK vs Hogan at Summerslam?

I actually think the build up to it was brilliant (the "Larry King" interview, the face off, etc.). We got 97 HBK back (minus the booze and coke) for that program.

That being said: I remember liking the match, but the only thing that I can really recall is HBK overselling everything. It's like a movie that you liked watching in the theater but you never really watch it again when it comes out on blu ray.

I thought Hogan was always supposed to win the SS match but agreed to return the favor at the next PPV. Days before SS he changed in his mind in typical scumbag snake in the grass letting other wrestlers bang his wife Hogan fashion ?

Nah, Shawn always wanted to win the first match. He begged to win, for whatever reason he really wanted that first win. So a lot of people thought he wanted to win first, so he could get the win then fake an injury and not have to do the other two matches. Hogan apparently thought this as well

Then it switched from "Okay, then let me win the next one" and Hogan said "I'm winning that one too" and Shawn was furious.

Hogan doesn't see Shawn on his level. And honestly, he's not

and its arguably the greatest match in the history of tsc.......it litterally crushed the souls of some of the posters here and have yet to fully recover from it...the know who they are


they should of never doubted the POWER of Hulkamania


I pray the WWE smartens up and released a Best of Hogan blu ray so that I can own this classic in HD

Shawn oversold the whole match to mock Hogan because Shawn was suppose to win this match, but Hogan had creative control and said no. So then Shawn came up with the idea that they have 3 matches, and that Shawn wins the first one, and Hogan can win the next too. And Hogan sad "No, if we wrestle 3 matches, I'm winning all three"

So Shawn got pissed and that's why he did that during the match then buried Hogan the next night on Raw. Vince gave Shawn the okay for the promo

at Huckenbottem thinking he could out politic the Greatest Politician of all time. he would have won the 1st match and then refused to job in any other matches. Like Hogan was gonna fall for that

I don't even care about who "won" the backstage political battle. That match entertained the hell outta me, and that had everything to do with HBK's performance all through the build and the match itself.

It's still the most entertaining Hogan match I ever watched. HBK brought Hogan to a place he'd never been before.
