My daughters mother is missing, she's been struggling with depression for years and left a note that isn't encouraging..my daughter lives with her so her grandmother is bringing her over here after school.

I already called my work and told them I won't be in tomorrow

I don't know how to handle this, I already lost almost all of my family in the last 2 years.

I don't know how to make it ok for my daughter to deal with this if it's as bad as I think it is

The police?

Call them now and they might organize a search or at least try and reach out to her.

Contact the police or put her face in milk cartons.

police already know of course, her cellphone was last pinged in a town a half hour from here.

the only hope I have is that I don't know why she would drive there if she was going to do something bad

I know it probably seems weird I'm posting this but I have literally no one to talk to, I don't want to alarm the people that are still here until I know more.

I'm currently just sitting on my couch vibrating, I just got the call about this an hour ago from my daughter's mother's parents

Hopefully the mom a) doesn't do anything drastic and b) gets the help that she needs.

If you know she was depressed, maybe you should've offered to take custody of your daughter while she went to get help.

I don't think you should tell the daughter anything until you know for sure what's going on. How old is your daughter?

Do you know where the mother might have went? Does the daughter know?

All you can do now is wait to see what the police say.

You basically have primary custody of your daughter now and will be raising her as a single parent. Good luck.

I have offered to take her, me and her mother have a good relationship and I've been trying to help her with all this

she has tried to get help, she has a therapist she see's...I've supported her through it all

I thought it was getting better but I am so afraid right now
