What do I need to start giving myself shapeups?

I'll just give my barber my bread. Knowing me, I'll try to give myself a shape up like every other day

What happened?

I was watching YouTube videos that made it look easy but it wasn't lol. I bought the necessary stuff but one I'm heavy handed so i kept cutting into my skin trying to line myself up. Also couldn't get the clean look that you would get at the barber shop not even close it was so time consuming and the result wasn't worth it.

Just get oil and a set of clippers. It's really not that hard and gets mad easy the more you do it. Getting your back could get a lil tricky at first. I've been doin mine for almost a decade now. Started cutting my own hair like 3 years ago. Can even fade out shyt now. N I don't even have a steady hand like that.

This oil hasn't let me down...

Believe me it pays off in the long run. Saves time and money by not having to go to the barbershop every 1-2 weeks. Not to mention the stress of playing russian roulette with the chance of your barber fukkin up

Best believe when I have sons Imma cut their shyt too.

Back when I had a hairline I did it. Just get a liner and go real slow. I have been cutting my own hair for like 15 years.

Don't do it the line up is the hardest part of a haircut and can make or break it especially the back it's easy to get carried away and push hairline back lol

I dont trust myself with lineups, just not worth the stress. I cut myself usually and just let a barber do the lines ($15 vs $30 for a full cut).

Try tracing a piece of paper...but do it using the mirror's reflection instead of looking at the paper itself

You will need:
Andis T-outliner
Andis Fade Master
Andis Envy / or any other regular blade clipper

Two mirrors, a hand held one and one hanging on the wall.

Some patience.

Don't be afraid if you miss up - because you'll have to shave it all off. So experiment.

Also, check youtube for Vic the barber and Als Millions...

I've been cutting my hair for over 10 years now and I cut my sons as well. It takes time and patience. Don't be afraid to shave it all off.
