R&B in general works far more wonders for "tings" than Drake's music, especially in my age group(30 somethings). Hell, you can throw Afrobeats and Dancehall into the mix too for certain women.

Besides that, there's a time and place for everything. I know tons of women who listen to rappers outside of Drake as well as those who think he fell off/is washed but some of those rappers aren't exactly the types that could turn up a party.

My wife is a big fan of Mos Def and J Cole but even she would tell you that any DJ who plays them in a club should lose aux privileges lol.

I'm married, and when I'm driving, my wife listens to whatever I'm listening to or she can drive herself. That's the rule. The driver gets the radio. So she's listening to classic hip hop, with hard drums and samples. Drake stans sound funny when they think Drake has a real stranglehold on women, especially in 2025 of all years where he's fallen from grace.

I can't even think of a more recent time I went to a Black function with Drake playing. Then again, the functions I go to tend to revisit hip hop and R&B classics from the 90's and 00's. I was at one function where "Ten Crack Commandments" came on and it was some of the women who were quoting Biggie bar for bar.
