That was never the claim... Whoever said it on this site was wrong. I remember this being the explanation when this started to roll out to health care providers first.

80% to 90% of the population over 30 is vaccinated it's been known that you can still get Covid but the symptoms are extremely mild. So if all these people are walking around unmasked living there life 70% of the cases being vaccined people is expected.

Exactly, and all that has to happen is a 'vaccine resistant' strain comes in and everyone is spreading it amongst each other, nullifying the 'protection' of the vaccine. They better make sure to completely shut those borders down and not let anyone in the country because they don't want to introduce external strains

It also nullifies the logic for 'mandating proof of vaccination status' to enter restaurants and bars, etc. if the vaccinated can still spread the disease everywhere. If all the vaccine does is lower symptoms, just let the unvaxed enter public venues at their own risk.
