Maybe you’re right.

But seeing how rushed it was, I fear that it could lead to issues. Especially when pitchers and catchers disagree on what pitch to throw.

I don’t want this rule to lead to a league where pitchers abandon all strategy and they become robots just throwing whatever number is put down.
Great point . Time will tell

The only time change should be speeding up the 20 seconds with runners on base. That should be cut down to 18 seconds.

They've done studies that show the correlation with how long these dikkhead pitchers hold the ball and increased velocity. That gave the pitchers the added advantage, which they already had.

No more assembly line of relievers coming in, waiting 22 seconds to fill the gas tank and blowing dudes :dame: away with 100 mph four seamers. We should get fewer strikeouts and more contact, which is what the game's been missing. fukk these pitchers. Put balls in play; banning the shift will also help. Bout damn time. :blessed:

the issue is that hitters don't want to adjust their approach even if it sucks because they're tryna sell out for the HR.

That and the best teams wanna see as many pitches as possible, if nothing else, to wear the starter out and get to the pen.

Ideally the casual American wants 12-9 games that end in 2 hours and that's just incredibly difficult.

hmm interesting…what happens if the clock runs down? :leon:

ok I found the real answer…this is gonna be controversial as hell…I voted “I don’t know”

The pitcher must begin his motion to deliver the pitch before the expiration of the pitch timer and those who violate the timer are charged with an automatic ball. Conversely, batters who violate the timer are charged with an automatic strike.

I don't think baseball needs an offensive explosion.

I think, really, what baseball needs is to find a way to get rid of this stuck up, snobby fukkin mentality where any self expression is frowned upon.
Encourage bat tossing. Encourage fan participation. Encourage flash and celebrations.

THAT is what baseball needs.

American Baseball is boring because they don't allow you to celebrate how fun it is!

Baseball in DR:

Baseball in Japan:

Baseball in South Korea:

Look at how baseball games can be once you leave America.
Take notes. People worried about all sorts of goofy shyt. This game is supposed to be ENTERTAINING. Embrace the entertainment. Let players express themselves.

So, as a pitcher you can basically intentionally walk someone by just staring them down for 4 straight pitch clock violations.

I like it, albeit with some tweaks, but good luck with all of this in its current form in the playoffs when the game REALLY slows down.

The only real issue I see is that when someone gets on base, the clock will make it harder to keep tabs on possible steals. I think the entire process of the battery agreeing on pitches can and will be streamlined to adjust

Haven't watched a full game with it yet but my only concern is whether we'll be too aware of it. That clip going around feels extra rushed but that's mainly cuz the pitcher was pitching way quicker than he needed to. That honestly felt jarring. I thought they should've made it more like 17-18 seconds since most pitchers are around there already.

I also hope the clock is not that visible or visible at all from the centerfield camera. Seeing it distracts from the play and makes me anxious for no reason lol.
