I have us finishing at 9th or 10th place in the East.

Hand injury aside, Rondo will have an All-Star season and a career year (because it's a contract year, if for no other reason).

Jeff Green will probably still struggle with being inconsistent but will put up All-Star worthy numbers in lots of games.

Avery Bradley will make an All-Defense team.

Jared Sullinger will cement himself as Kevin love-lite.

Marcus Smart will be in the running for ROY.

What say y'all?

He'll have a J-Crossover-like role on the Cs. Obviously he won't be as good BUT he'll be a candidate for ROY (possibly even 6th Man/Year).

Or maybe Rondo will get traded halfway through the season.

The team as it is right now is one all-star (i.e., Marc Gasol) away from being a contender in the East. We actually have lots of good pieces (not to mention our draft picks).

This team is not very talented. Flip Rondo for more assets unless you think you're getting a superstar next season.

Teach James Young to play defense.
Let Marcus Smart play this season, then lock him in the gym with a shooting machine this summer.
Pray for Okafor.

You have a good coach and a smart GM.... settle in for a year or two.

:stopitslime:Rondo, Sullinger, Green, Bradley, and Young and Smart as future prospects and you don't think we have a talented squad?

Rondo and Bradley make up one of the best defensive back courts in the league.

Is it the most talented team in the East? No. But I don't think we're as bad as people make it seem. The talent is there, it's just whether they can all put it together (i.e., Jeff Green not being inconsistent).

If I were the Cs, I'd keep Rondo and GO HARD for Marc Gasol during the offseason. :blessed:

Klay Thompson would also be a welcome addition.

Young and Smart are not superstar prospects. Smart projects out to a great defender with an inconsistent jumper without great playmaking skills.

James Young can't play defense, hasn't shown ball-handling skills, and is a total gunner. Both are talented, but they are not superstars in the making. And I thought both of them were great choices by Ainge.

Rondo is 28, still can't shoot, hurt, and playing with guys that don't suit his skillset. He needs scorers around him, preferably two stars to get the ball to. He's still a freak, and still fun to watch... but he needs a cast.

Sullinger is a starter-level talent, who can score against players around his size, but struggles with length/altheticism. He can't defend at all. But as a stretch 4 that can also score on the block a little... he's a solid rotational forward, a fringe starter.

Jeff Green - grow up, kid.

You didn't mention Olynyk, who is better than green... but yeah, you didn't even mention him, so...

With Rondo as a chip, and another bad year ahead... you're in position to score more talent, which is great. But this team, as it stands... is not talented.

No hate, I'm a knick fan, and our team isn't talented either. Gotta hope the system takes.

I sold C's tickets the past 4 years. Gave them up this year. Prices have plummeted and it got really really hard to sell games last year. This year will be even more difficult to sell games. The prices are going to drop something serious.

Jeff Green isn't as good as I had hoped. If we can trick some team into thinking he's a star then get rid of him.

Please get Gerald Wallace THE fukk OFF MY TEAM!!!!

Looking forward to seeing Young and Smart but I don't think they'll have all that much opportunity unless Rondo gets traded.

Rondo needs to get traded ASAP and we need a solid big in return. I don't trust Sully staying healthy and Olynik is still in his shell.

1. One of the biggest misconceptions about Rondo is that he can't shoot. Rondo actually has a decent/good mid-range jumpshot. The best example is the 2012 Eastern Conference Finals (vs. the Miami Heat) or even the round before against the 76ers. Rondo's problem is that he doesn't take enough of those shots. He could also work on extending his range (become a solid/good 3-pt shooter). He could also work on his free throws.

2. I see where you're coming from but I COULD NOT trade Rondo if I were the GM. Rondo is one of the league's top 3 PGs (when healthy), a champion, an immense defender, a floor general, and an excellent playmaker in the prime of his career. He's also a nightly threat for a triple-double. I think it would be easier for Boston to build around Rondo (a la the NJ Nets did around J Kidd) than for them to overhaul the entire squad. I believe the Cs should grab a big man and someone that is a consistent 3-pt shooting threat and can stretch the flood. There are plenty of good/great PGs in the league. But not many have Rondo's pedigree. Moreover, Rondo goes absolutely HAM in the playoffs.

3. If I had to, I'd flip Young, Smart, Wallace, Olynk and a couple of draft picks for an all-star/superstar big man. Throw in Zeller is we must. Green could go as well but with his documented inconsistency, it's almost better for us to keep him. Then I'd make moves for a SF or even a PF that could stretch the floor.

Uncertain grounds
O/U on wins in Vegas is 26.5. We're not going to be good at all but we'll be competitive and steal some wins so I bet the over. No way we're winning more than 36 at absolute best. Just pump up Thornton, Turner and Olynyk's stock and flip them
