I don’t know shyt about women’s college ball but from the outside looking in it looks very different from the modern NBA.
there are coaches that are caught up but Dawn's system is very old school, bigs establish deep post position and seal and dump it into them and let them either go to work or kick it out to the guards/wings after a double a team. also usually very bland and vanilla guard play.

As successful as SC is they play a very old school game. I'm sure she can adapt but she don't need all that stress when they worship her down there.

I'm not a Knicks fan but, y'know what's been soo funny and mind-boggling about the Knicks head coaching search?

It's the fact that they've deliberately avoided the best candidates (Malone, Vogel, Bud, Monty, Griffin, etc) on the market, then proceed to go after the best head coaches already in secured positions (Finch, Udoka, etc) knowing those teams weren't ever going to give you permission, but also have sought after decent yet very mediocre coaches (Jenkins, Brown, etc).

Now they've made a pitch after arguably the best coach in women's college basketball, knowing dayum well they're not going to hire her due to the optics/dynamics of a woman coaching an all-mens team, plus I doubt she'd leave South Carolina.

It's like the Knicks aren't serious, I'm not sure what they're trying to do here. If this is the case they probably should've kept Thibs.

:hhh:

Because Mike Malone is another Thibs.
In theory, to a certain extent, he might be, but in reality, he's clearly a better coach than Thibs with enough of his own style that'd separate the two of them.

I don't think anyone would struggle choosing between Thibs and Malone.

It's not even close.

But a huge point of contention for Knicks ownership and fans was that the bench players needed to be played. If that was such a huge sticking point, you don’t go after Thibs because he refused to give bench players minutes
