I don't know why you made this thread then. Ain't no response to give except the obvious
I made this thread because we needed atcleast 1 positive discussion on here but some people cant even take this serioualy or dont know how to answer tbe question. Then is it safe to assume that some black people don't know what makes them proud to be black or what it means to be black?

It reads like you're litteraly asking why are you black as in why is your skin the color black

How so? I even say in the OP what I was asking and some of the posters responded accordingly. I also pointed out that I wasn't asking based on skin color and your parents.

It does show me that a lot of people don't know what makes them black outside of color and having 2 black parents though

My bad homie. Well I'm black because I'm intelligent and resilient. I think those are defining traits of blackness

Because a Jamaican man and a Vincentian woman met in a barber shop in Toronto, they got married, and I was born almost exactly a year later (which is today!). My parents never lost touch with their roots either, so growing up, there was a lot of that being around the house. That still goes on, to this day, in fact. My parents'll be in the living room watching these big festival performances where they've got tons of reggae artists performing, and if not that, they'll be watching stuff about the politics down in St. Vincent. My Mom'll always have the radio on Star FM, tuned in. And my Dad'll have cricket on whenever matches are happening.

I also looked forward to holidays not only because of the festivities, but because I knew that curry goat was around the corner. That, along with a plate of rice is still my weakness. :ahh:

:banderas: ayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy you're half and half too????

I've been mistaken for other races a few times. The only thing that really stands out as black is my nappy hair and my black man smile. :wow::blessed:

In light of all the fukkery threads we've been having (and myself partaking) I'm curious as to what you feel truly makes you consider yourself a black person and someone of African descent? Like is it your interest or your appearance? Maybe it's your clothes or hair that make you feel black . Or the obvious "i have two blacks parents, just curious about how everyone feels.

:what:
