What do you know about Operation Paperclip? How would you feel if your gov't participated in it?

My roommate told me to watch this but i already know a decent amount about operation paperclip
Im disgusted by it honestly. The country fights a world war to stop the nazis then harbors some of them because they were 'smart'.
Were scientific advances made because of it. Yeah i suppose...but the morality of it is suspect at best and repugnant at worst

this is a hot take but when you look at how toxic and fukked up internet culture is and how its been ingrained since the early days of the arpanet and darpanet you have to think that at least part of it stems from all of the ex-nazis that found positions as scientists and engineers in the us military apparatus

This is an important part of American/World history, regardless of your feelings about the messengers.
And then hundreds of them transition into American society undetected and hold key positions in the government? Like we already didn't have an issue with white supremacy at the state level? You have to wonder how much Nazi philosophy influenced American politics. I also wonder how Israel can be so cool with us all this time, knowing their biggest enemies are living amongst our ranks.
It's established fact at this point. Just another crazy conspiracy theory that turned out to be true. In fact, we should start a running thread of claims that started out as conspiracy theories and turned out to be true.
