The Friday-Saturday restriction was the direct result of lobbying from the NCAA. A House committee noted in its report on the SBA, “[NCAA representatives] are convinced that uncontrolled televising of professional football games could be ruinous to what is known as in-person attendance at college games. It is their position that professional football should not be granted exemption from the antitrust laws for package television contracts at the expense of intercollegiate football.”

I hate one Thursday night football game. Not everybody has nfl network. Plus if the cowboys lose on Thursday night that's a long ass time of pissed off emotions until the next game.

We wouldn't have all these Thursday games. If teams wasn't crying about the Cowboys and Lions having an advantage playing on Thanksgiving Thursday. The NFL made it that majority of the teams get a chance to play on Thursday and have a 10 days week before there next game. To even out the Cowboys/Lions Thanksgiving Thursday advantage.
Yes, this is 1 of 2 reasons why the NFL start having a game on every Thursday during the season. 2 reason is they make more TV money of course.

I'm actually one of the few who hates thursday night football and knows the only way for me to show that is by not watching, so other than the niners match up, I don't watch it
I'm not a fan of the double headers idea, player safety, I enjoy the beauty of Sunday being NFL day, and timing - especially on the west coast, we get screwed on MNF and TNF already, a lot of working folks aren't out the office at 5/5:30 and we're definitely not out of traffic or the gym and back home for that shyt, now you want games to start at 5/6 EST/2/3 PST while the second game will end at 1am in the east? That's not going to win you ratings either

Rule changes to make it arena football and leave no traces of defense left in the sport,gonna add more playoff teams to hurt its regular season,constant comercials to fukk the flow up etc
Say what you want about Selig hes awful but he hasnt hurt the game on the field,hes added a wild card but it stil has the least amount of teams that make the playoffs out of any sport so he hasnt killed the regular season or playoffs, talent is at an all time high and you still have tons of ptichers duels that the hardcore fans love,the product hasnt been fukked with on the field like the nfl

SF, SEA, AZ, SD, OAK, & possibly DEN at home are there only options for a second game every year. The Raiders/Chargers Sunday night 10:30 EST game got a 2.5 mil viewers compared to the 8.1 mil for Thursday night games on NFLN. This is one of the stupidest ideas you could even ponder
