Down to the mood.

Sometimes, I keep it simple. Cheese, onions (rinsed), ketchup, mustard.

Sometimes I will add salted tomatoes, lettuce and mustard.

Mustard on a burger is crazy

mayo on the bun
ketchup, sauteed onions on the burger.
sometimes bacon.
lettuce or tomatoes ain't necessary but I don't mind them
a cheese that's not overbearing. no blue cheese, goat cheese or gruyere ass burgers where all you taste is the cheese. Same goes for seasoning, foh peppercorn burgers

Sliced pickles, onions, sometimes mushrooms. I don't eat beef :dame:so it's usually a chicken sandwich

Absolutely NO ketchup or mayonnaise. The spread gotta be mustard or if the burger comes with some kinda blended spread, thats fine. Any toppings after that are fine but typically the standard shyts

How good is ground beef supposed to taste by itself?

Honestly, i think this is the real factor with burgers....it's a lot of spots where the fact they have a house seasoning for the patties or a particular sourcing for beef that makes all the difference.

A quality burger doesn't need much if you've put the primary focus there.

Cheese is automatic

Ketchup and mustard or BBQ sauce mandatory

Preferably pickles, but I can do without

Bacon every blue moon

I never ask for mayo, but if some is put on my burger, I’d still eat it

Never onions, lettuce or tomatoes

Poppy seed bun >>>> all other buns

Always toppings = mustard, any cheese but Swiss, onions, pickles and jalapeños.

50/50 toppings = lettuce, tomato

Rarely = mayo

As far as burgers from restaurants/fast food, I hate adding bacon because the burger itself always ends up dry for some reason.

Used to be one of those guys that couldn’t have mayo on my burger at all. Gotten a lil older, taste buds done changed a bit, now if a lil mayo is on there I’ll still eat the burger

I don’t like condiments and I’m not a cheese fan (except on pizza and one slice in a pot of grits)

So I usually don’t eat burgers unless they homemade cookout joints with the onions and peppers in the meat…I may add bacon and lettuce and onion if available…I’m simple:manny:
