By all accounts, Rock is a consummate professional who always puts the fans and even his peers above all. There was no reason or payoff that would have been gained from burying Cena when a) you're trying to build a series of matches b) the fans already know he's not on your level c) he has to stick around and is the face of the product you had to help come in and save in the first place.
