We already have AI that is much smarter than us though, just in a limited field. For instance, a calculator is a primitive AI that is much smarter than humans in calculating, Google is another that is much smarter in what it does.

I wouldn't consider any of that to be AI. It's just predetermined outcomes based on programming and there is no real intelligence involved.
