yea, this is what Im referring to and what is being discussed in that article I linked,

I never thought about the ability to self-destruct. that is interesting. some believe, the super A.I would act as a "god" figure and help mankind

Until it realizes that we're un-help-able. :lolbron: Then it's just gone be like ":beli: You know what? This shyt is pointless!" and take over. :russ:

Live in simulated reality or exterminate us.

Depends on what predetermined notions it's programmed with.

Personally, we allow technology to move to fast before we have an understanding of the implications of that technology. I think we'll become dogs.

The smartest people in the world already indicate it's a dumb idea, and at the very least we need to augment ourselves to keep up.

Creating an A.I. intelligence greater than that of human intelligence will NEVER...EVER...happen.

I remember not to long ago thinking up the plot of a movie about robots. I'll spare you the details except to say the robots are mentally like Transformers, only created by scientists. Anyway what struck me is just how hard it would actually be to make a robot that behaved and thought as humans do. It would go down as the greatest feat of all mankind if we could get it done.

if it gets to that, i say let the robots cook. robots starting from the bottom and surpassing us, who am i to hate :yeshrug: maybe we'll learn something from them. their society would probably be communist though.

This is retarded, people believe movies too much. Machine can never be smarter than man. Man doesn't even use the full 100% of his brain. The machine only knows what man has put into it. The created is never greater than the creator. Only way these scenarios could happen is if man collectively wilfully dumbs him self down. Then again it does seem like some in society are trying to do that, but on principle if humans really don't want it to happen, it won't happen.

I suggest you read a bit more before you make these claims. Leading A.I researchers believe it is inevitable that machines will outsmart humans. Only a matter of when. Alot of the recent deep learning developments point to it happening forsure.

Researchers said we'd be working less and more prosperous and productive after year 2000. Not because something is printed means it's accurate or correct. Researches fail 1000 times before they achieve one success. Putting on heirs of abstraction doesn't make one intelligent either. Sometimes people can be too accepting for everything until they can't really stand on sound reasoning. I'll stick to my claims. Man>machine, science is a TOOL for Man. Any thoughts other then that lean towards a self depreciating genocidal mentality, which is basically retardation as I mentioned before.
