JBL is horrible, the only person below JBL in the pantheon of horrible announcers is Rob Bartlett. Cole sucks but when Vince isn't in his ear he was passable. Saxton is the most generic sounding announcer they have, he doesn't bring the product down but he adds absolutely nothing. Actually forget what I said about JBL, lawyers the past 13-14 years takes the cake as the worst announcer ever, even over Rob Bartlett, at least Bartlett accidentally said a couple of funny things, King had been vomit inducing type horrible. I can't speak for Graves I don't watch enough nxt

I think for the most part, their announcers are much like their wrestlers - so scripted, rehearsed, and robotic that you get the sense that they don't even like what they're (supposed to be) selling. It's generic and been said 100000 times, but JR's passion is truly missed. He can make a terrible match watchable.

I will caveat that I don't watch SD, so I'm really missing out on the new dude and Lawler heeling it up. I trust a few guys here and if y'all say he's dope, I believe it.

The Raw team is terrible though. There's no reason to have essentially 3 Coles out there.

Cole: Passable bordering weak. His only positive is that he raises his VOICE every TIME someone gets HIT.

Saxton: Weak as all hell. Sounds like he's learnt everything he knows from Cole, but somehow manages to be less engaging.

JBL: Passable bordering good (dunno why, but I actually like his references to other sports especially his hackneyed mentions of EPL and Rugby events)

Graves: Solid as hell. Only commentator in the organisation worthy of being mentioned in the same breath as Heenan or Ventura. Not perfect, but VERY GOOD.:ehh:

Lawler: Passable bordering weak. Poor jokes which he seems to go after again and again. Only really works as a heel and even then he's fairly annoying. Compare him to Ventura or Heenan and tell me he even deserves a job.:francis:

Booker T: Good. Great voice. Good references. Never really gets me hyped or make me laugh, but doesn't detract from the product in any way.

Matthews/Brennan/Ranallo - No idea. I don't watch Smackdown, but I imagine they can all fukk off.:lolbron:

Lowkey shoutout for Xavier Woods' guest spots. His handling of Kalisto's Salida del Sol at TLC was probably the best bit of commentary for the the whole year. "WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?":mindblown:

Corey Graves would do well as the heel commentator of Raw and I don't think you need 3 announcers, kinda prevents the team from building chemistry and fluid team. JR and King had an identifiable relationship that they could fall back on.

Friends but always very critical of one another. Their relationship added to the show; what we have now are 3 guys having a conversation during segments.

Agreed. And there's always one left out person in the conversation, usually Byron, and when he does chime in, it never adds anything. Never been big on three-man commentary in wrestling anyway. It looks good visually, like it's a 'big game'... but to listen to it... eh.

Trying to capture the feel of the big game is a big miss. Having 2 color and 1 play by play works so well on nationally televised ball games because you don't get it often. The 2 professional opinions makes allows them to cover all of the extra info that comes with those big games.

The 3-man in wrestling should only be the Big 4 shows. Having a 2-man team just fits better for 90% of broadcasts or more. You always have someone jockeying for time to talk, annoying.

When Michael Cole is your best announcer out of 3 by a country mile, that's all that needs to be said about the commentary :skip:
