In all honesty I doubt it. His first album went double plat. He's always been a well respected lyricist, even now. His projects always get praise from fans and his peers. He makes good money.

Could his career be bigger? Sure. Is it failed? I don't think so. He went way past where most people are ever able to go. he wasn't lost relevancy either. If he announced tomorrow that he was doing a full album with someone like Alchemist or Madlib I guarantee it would be an AOTY contender. Like someone else said, he tours overseas regularly for good money.
