Well, if i knew where to get some slaves, that'd be dope! :takedat:

But seriously, I read awhile ago that there are around 22 millions slaves in the world and I was shocked. I always thought of slavery as a thing of the past. Now that right there is idiotic! I'm not ashamed to admit that I thought like that, though. Being a black man, I had to sort of take a step back and stop dwelling so hard on what happened to my ancestors and think about what's going on today, you know? Slavery in any form is disgusting but I'm not sure what I can do personally to stop it. I think this issue should be of more concern than things like weed or gay marriage. I also have a little cynic on my shoulder that is a bit indifferent, as you pointed out, because war and slavery have been 2 of the most consistent things in human history.

there are tons of things you can do. You can donate your time to runaway shelters/flop houses where many of these human trafficking victims are found. While there, you can determine if any of the people have been victims or are in contact with shady individuals and file police reports/alert staff members. You could also alert your neighborhood of such issues and provide some strategies to the community in keeping track of all kids so if one child disappears, there is a network that can possibly trace them to their location. This shyt is not disgusting, this system of holding someone against their will is pure, evil. Slavery is evil. I may be wrong, but you come off as if you really don't care. After reading the quoted post, you still seem like some suburban white kid posing as a black person here and trying to drop smart-ass comments about serious things that affect low-income minorities the most.

i do not have anything to prove to you, dude. I am a 26 year old black male, though. Slavery is evil. That's probably the best way to put it.

Btw, being called white is something that I had to get over because it really used to anger me. I used to see red when that happened because no one else defines my 'blackness' or anything else about me. I pay my own way through school, have been homeless, and grew up poor. Let's stop the mental slavery. i understand that y'all need to be cautious after posting in that other thread where a bunch of people negged me but please stop calling me/insinuating that i'm white.

And jeez, i really didn't think about starting at the shelters or just working locally. i was thinking about how i could go to the top, but that might be a hydra type situation, if i even live to tell the tale. Like i said, i really don't know anything about this stuff out side of a blurb here or there, or maybe an advertisement/psa. and 'taken' :snoop:. so, thanks.

Then go read, brother. Educate yourself is the best way to start helping. Then educate others. I'm not calling you white to be mean; I was saying your posting style is very similar to the whites on here that show indifference to moral crises faced by blacks and poor people. You need to educate yourself homie

word. i do need to start keeping up with this stuff again. between school and other stuff, i be busy as heck. and i lost a lot of my books when i lost my home. maybe i've been on my nietsche middle path kick for long enough. haha, maybe that's where you're getting the indifference from!

i had a book by disinfo with a lot of crazy stuff called '50 facts that should change the world' or something like that. I got an overview on a lot of different things.

this book put me on to a bunch of crazy stuff, from the leading cause of death for russian women being their husbands, to FGM (please google responsibly if you don't know what that is), to how grocery stores sell info to the government to catch potential terrorists.
