this is some sick stuff but i think people should start changing the game. how hard would it be to traffick myself to say japan and run away for a few weeks vacation and then traffick myself back? would it cost me anything if i don't check a bag?

Sarcasm doesn't really fit this thread since you are trying tod etermine if this is a serious subject....maybe humans being sold into slavery is something to debate about for you, but for most logical thinking and moral humans, slavery is immoral in any form, so next time, how about using some common sense and creating a thread where we discuss proactive solutions to the problem instead of your bullshyt, immature sarcasm about this serious epidemic?

as far as being on topic, i know it's getting out of hand because i see a lot of commercials about human/sex trafficking but i don't know that much about it. i already knew it was a serious subject. i just wanted to spark up some random convo about it because people compare blacks/gays, but i rarely hear blacks/new slaves. you obviously have nothing important to say about this 'serious epidemic' since pointing out an intentionally facetious comment takes precedent.

no it wasn't a call to arms. i was drinking about thinking about this subject so i just threw it out there, man. again, there is another forum for more serious stuff so that's why i posted it here. if you don't like my personality, i'm sorry. i'm not going to get on a soap box and project some attitude that is disingenuous just because i'm on the internet.

But seriously, I read awhile ago that there are around 22 millions slaves in the world and I was shocked. I always thought of slavery as a thing of the past. Now that right there is idiotic! I'm not ashamed to admit that I thought like that, though. Being a black man, I had to sort of take a step back and stop dwelling so hard on what happened to my ancestors and think about what's going on today, you know? Slavery in any form is disgusting but I'm not sure what I can do personally to stop it. I think this issue should be of more concern than things like weed or gay marriage. I also have a little cynic on my shoulder that is a bit indifferent, as you pointed out, because war and slavery have been 2 of the most consistent things in human history.
