Whenever you look at the news, they always capitalize on some fukked up shyt, but fail to balance it out with something positive.

So my question to yall is what have yall experienced that made you feel lik ethe world doesnt deserve to be blown to bolivia at any given moment?

For me, I can say is a few weeks ago, i took my mother out to the Winston Salem Open to see the tennis tournaments. My mother being a muslim wears the traditional head coverings and such, its obvious to tell she's a muslim. Just seeing muslims getting terrorized and demonized all over the media, i just expect dirty looks and unfair treatment.

Contrary to my expectations, everybody was extremely friendly and courteous. We sat next to some old white ladies who i thought would be on some :mjpls: :scusthov::huhldup: shyt, initiated convo with us and overall had a good chat. I didnt sense any type of hostilities or negativity at all. :leon:

She even got to take a picture with Feliciano Lopez :heh:

So what you're saying is...your mom didn't blow up the tennis match..? :mjpls:
i was more worried about roddikk throwing a tennis racquet into the crowd. Dude smashed one into the ground on some incredible hulk shyt and started tearing it apart after playing this polish cat named darcis. after every volley, dude would drop shot the ball just barely over the net :troll:

One time I was in Japan, backpacking & really broke. I only had a few dollars left for Kyoto and had to choose between two things:

1. Eating at this one ramen spot I'd been plotting on the whole time I was there
2. Going to the museum which was also something I'd been wanting to do.

So there I was posted up outside the museum, thinking about how much it fukking sucked to be broke. I was only 17 or 18 and had been travelling alone for weeks, so I was really on some :to: shyt...

Then an old man walks up to me and hands me a ticket to the museum :dwillhuh:. I told him I couldn't give him any money, and he just smiled and said he had an extra ticket.

I don't know why but that experience in particular stands out to me.. Dude just let me have a ticket prob because he saw how sad I looked, it was a small thing but meant a lot to me at the time.

Thank you old Japanese man.

I never lost faith in humanity. :manny: There has always been good out there.

I remember when one time, like 2 years ago, an old lady pulled over and asked me for directions. I spent minutes trying to explain how to get there, and she couldn't figure it out, and finally just asks, "Are you headed in that direction?"

"Yeah, I was about to take the bus."

"Can you drive me there?"

:leostare:

I was floored that she actually trusted me like that.
And gave me the bus fare when we reached.

Here's one...

I was in Chicago with my nikkas on the green line headed to a friends crib. Now none of us were really holdin like that it was a little weekend trip.

So a gentleman stands up and talks for about 8 minutes about how he just got out of prison for accessory for a killing. Dude was walking past a dice game saw two of his friends fighting. While trying to break it up, one of his friends shot the other one. Because he was pulling one dude away the prosecutor said he was holding the man that go shot. He did 12 years for that.

What struck me is that he did not ask for food, he did not ask for money or train fare. Dude asked for WORK. About 30 seconds after he was done talking my friend gives him a hand full of money and says "stay up and get out of Illinois" after that another man gave him food, another gave him 3 cards for people who can do electrical work.

And lastly, a guy in the back of the car, waved him down and gave him a pre-paid call phone. Told him to call a few numbers and he could keep the phone...

I saw that guy again 2 days later he nodded, then i saw him on that same phone, calling the halfway house he was staying in....saying he was on his way to work.

I was at the bakery buying some bread and snacks. You know how they have those outlets where you can get whole pound cakes for 2 dollars...bread for 99 cent(the good shyt, to)...entenmann crumb cakes and cinnamon rolls for 2.50 or less.

Anyway....when I got to the cash register, my shyt came up to 9 bucks. All I had was a 50 dollar bill and the store didn't take bills larger than a 20.

I asked the guy behind me if he could break a 50, but he said no "just go ahead, I'll pay for your stuff...it's on me"

I told him I'd run across the street to the QT to get change so I can pay him back, but by the time I made it back, he was gone:wow:

I was only gone for about 2 minutes.Dude just vanished into thin air.Older white dude rocking a Vietnam Vet hat.

Gave me a lil more hope in humanity.

Uncertain grounds
great stories thus far, mine is a little different

i was on the auto train from dc to sanford, fla going to college one august a few years back.

after dinner, i went to the smoking car to read some of the analects of confucious and the tao te ching...

as i was reading and ripping grits, this 40 somethin year old guy joined me at the table and just started asking me my opinions on various subjects. instead of debating me on each point, he took in the knowledge and left.

about 5 minutes later, two young teenagers joined my table and told me that their father sent them to talk with me and get help from me. i asked them what was going on in their lives and proceeded to give advice and talk with them for an hour or so. after a small diatribe, the two kids actually had silent tears running down their faces because it was registering with them so much.

at the time, i was losing hope in humanity because of its unwillingness to listen to and teach the real, and general procession towards apathy and diluted truths. instead of diluting my message, the father decided that it was better off for them to hear my advice directly, thinking that it may hit them better since i was younger and the source of it. it was refreshing to see that, instead of another arrogant old man who thinks its impossible for someone that age to be of intellectual use within the philosophical realms. and as a minor in philosophy, it was especially rewarding to me because i realized that this is how i will be able to help people in the future.

some people still do try and improve and care
