it's a psychological tactic that is actually very effective and has gotten a complete amateur elected president....
make up any asinine statement and posit it as fact.... anyone who dares counter what you say, just accuse them of shutting down any alternate opinion... it has the effect of eventually forcing people to accept stupidity as legit discourse which works in favor of those who promote propaganda....
consider this, at one point during the campaign trump literally said that obama was the founder of isis... now most of us would classify such a statement as hyperbole and assume trump simply meant obama's response to terrorism was weak and that allowed for isis to grow... in fact, radio host hugh hewitt said as much to trump during an interview to which trump doubled down and said no, he meant that obama literally founded isis.... consider this for a minute.... there are lots of very legitimate criticisms of how obama prosecuted the war on terror, from both the left and the right... a very good case could be made against obama in that regard.... saying obama founded isis isn't a good argument in that regard though...
ah, but there's the genius.... if you argue against that retarded statement that drags intelligent discourse into the ground you'll be labeled as an obama sycophant.... i mean, what other reason would you ever have to say obama didn't found an organization that started before he was even president....?
this tactic is slick and effective mainly because it fools people into believing any idea should be given consideration no matter how stupid the idea is... you can't dismiss opinions for being idiotic... everything opinion must be put on the same scale... considering how well this tactic works, i don't blame people for using it... flood the internet with trolls and disinformation and fake news and tell anyone who disagrees with you that they can't handle counter opinions and eventually you can convince people that hillary is operating a child sex ring out of a pizzeria...
even in this thread that tactic is being used.... notice how people equate any disagreement with outrageous and demonstrably false ideas as just you being unable to handle any alternate views... not that they are presenting a coherent alternative view, because any alternate view is "automatically" coherent by default in their argument... no, it's just you can't handle any view outside your own... brilliant tactic...
