What exactly happened to Aaron Judge?

The Good

He's a rookie

It's his first full year in the league. Pitchers figured out how to pitch him, and made the necessary adjustments.

He's just going through what most rookies go through. It's just more pronounced with him because the media was already carving his Cooperstown plaque after three months.

More than likely, nothing.

He posted an absurdly high BABIP of .426 in the 1st half, and he's at .250 for the 2nd half.
Sure there's an adjustment that happens around the league, but it's not like his power was a surprise. Teams were trying to jam him up inside early in the season too. I don't think there's any secret that the league has on him.

I'll just say that he's in a slump and he's been a bit unlucky.
It's ugly, to be sure. His K-rate went up 5% which is probably him pressing a bit. But his BB rate is stable.

He'll be fine.

Aaron Judge's 2nd half HR/Flyball rate is 20.8%

Even if he averaged that for the entire season, it would still be top 27th in the league.

The power is clearly there.

I don't get this question. He's a runaway for Rookie of the year and is having a season veteran players would die for. Y'all thought he'd stay on his pace to break records in ways that would make Barry Bonds blush? In his rookie season?
