Nothing he can do if Davis wants to play for the Lakers. Why would he give away so many assets for a one year rental?

All these Celtic hater are a bunch of idiots

Why would we give up our future for a one year rental?

You should be the one feeling stupid as they used us to drive up the price when it’s clear we weren’t interested

The whole point to accumulating all those picks, like the Sixers did, was to find a superstar either through the draft or thru trade. It didn't have to be Davis, but it could've been Kawhi, Paul George, or Cousins (pre-injury). Ainge failed, simple and plain.

I won't knock Ainge for not trading half the team for a one year rental. But you're right, the entire point was to trade for a superstar and they haven't done it.

Now they're stuck with a team that has been left behind by the Raptors, Sixers, and Bucks. Even removing Kyrie's pouting ass isn't gonna make this team jump over the top east competition.

Barring a huge improvement from Tatum or Hayward the Pacers may have jumped them too. Also if the Nets get Tobias Harris they could jump them as well depending on Kyrie's fit with the team.

No one blamed Ainge for this move, but he had plenty of opportunities to pull big trade, and he said no..just so he can make this AD trade and it all blew back. This is still a huge L for Ainge and the Celtics. In reality they should be fine with their young guys, but they could have had a championship team.

Ainge should have pulled the trigger on couple of those early trades.

The only move that in hindsight Danny should have done was Paul George, but even then, all the talk was he was going home to LA.

Logistically, Kyrie was the only one that made sense, and that’s the one he did.
