What exactly is Golden State's major weakness?

Shaq as a center. Tim Duncan, Dirk nowitski, Chris Bosh, KG, Rasheed Wallace.

What these guys have in common is that they are championship PFs who can play Center. Guys like these are rare. Something i don't see in Golden state. If they win they'll be an exception to the rule. But because playoff basketball is a more ground out game I feel Golden state won't win it all unless the match ups are favourable and they don't go against bigs who'll expose them which might happen, and Steph and klays talent overcomes

So Shaq (7' 300+lbs) is a PF now (and that's why he won)???

No Shaq was the only exception to that rule that i had. And he was obviously a once in a lifetime exception.

But the rest of the guys have a certain mold. Whether it's for switching matchups both offensive and defensive or for going small and playing them at center. Whatever it is, it's a thing. Certain Positions the good players have a greater success rate than other positions. For instance Chris paul is undeniably great, but he hasn't won anything because his position isn't as dire as that of the PF's. Rondo and Tony Parker won but they had KG and Tim Duncan. All other undeniably good pgs aren't winning anything in my opinion until they get that big or a once in a lifetime talent or favourable match ups that don't expose their bigs. Basketball is moving into a different direction though in terms of spacing and bigs. They may survive but the fact is the type player I mentioned has been present in most recent championship teams. I forgot to mention Gasol. He's one of those types too.

I have nothing against golden state. I just notice a pattern im waiting for a team to overcome. Then I'll look at the why they managed to.

I never understood this one. Wouldn't call the Spurs (4 straight WCFs now) a jump-shooting team but so much of their success is predicated on hitting 3s. The 2011 Mavericks were straight up a jump-shooting team

Miami was also a jump-shooting team.

They're terry cloth soft

:what:

Spurs success is their ball movement, GOATcan on the block... Yeah they hit the outside shot but they don't live and die by it, not even close with all the inside scoring they do

Golden State's success is their ball-movement too. Spurs' and Golden State's main success is their defense. Do you know how many 3's the Spurs hit to beat Miami and the percentage? When was the last time Tim was the Spurs MVP in a Finals series? 1 decade ago. Dude never denied Tim's post play. He conceded that they do more than shoot jumpers. Golden State has only lost 13 games all year, so where is the "dying" coming from? Do you know where they rank in points in the paint?

The only concern I have is coaching. That's huge in the post-season. I personally think the Spurs will beat them. When I said Golden State was the best, I forgot how the Spurs started the season with so many injuries. The Spurs are still the best until someone proves it. Dominating with the Spurs beat up like they were isn't proof. That said, Golden State doesn't get enough credit. League steady worshiping a 20th ranked defense in Cleveland. :scust:

Cats think once April 17th roll around the Dubs defense will evaporate. Why is that you ask? Because they're the Warriors and admitting the Dubs are a defensive juggernaut for them is harder than a republican admitting the economy is doing good under Obama even though all the numbers are saying the economy is on an upswing.

Of course.

Certain players and teams are allowed to play "physical, hard-nosed defense" and get the benefit of the doubt so they can scratch and claw, grab arms and collide with players in the air under the guise of the nonsensical "Verticality Rule" that seems to apply whenever the refs feel like it. Most of it is based on rep.

Every Warriors game has a couple stretches where the opponent will repeatedly attack the defense, draw a lot of contact and subsequently turn the ball over. The Dubs then run down and drain open 3s on the other end while the opposing player is left on the floor, bewildered as to why the rules have suddenly changed.

Its an invaluable asset to have working in your favor every night, but again the playoffs are a whole different animal. If the Warriors run into another team w a similar defensive rep like Memphis or San Antonio, things could likely go very differently from the way they've gotten used to this season.

Why would the league favor GS? And why are the Cavs so bad defensively?
