Daz confirmed recently that him and Quik produced Skandalouz together, I always wondered if Quik had a hand in Ain't Mad Atcha besides mixing

Love What's Your Phone #...

that shyt is heat rocks... I used to hate on it back in the day as soon as the track came on, then once I let it ride I realized how great it was.

I also fukk with Playa Hata on LAD... but Nasty Boy and Another are just awful
The og instrumental outro is hella fonky, I wish they did extended jam session versions on AEOM the way they did for the first 4 or 5 DR releases, like as B-Sides or whatever

disc 2 houses most of the filler

Wonder Why They Call You bytch
Whats ya phone #
Thug Passion
Run the streets
Cant C Me is pretty mid if we being honest
Wonder Why They Call You Bytch is good.

I never really cared for Thug Passion & What's Your Phone #

Run The Streets & Can't C Me are both classics, tho.Especially Can't C Me.I pull up feeling clean & brand new when that's bumping in the ride.Shyt really have me gassed & thinking no man can see me.That song to me is what Rocky is to Italians.

I think AEOM being littered with filler is just a myth like Unicorns. As previously stated, only songs I might skip are Thug Passion & What's Your Phone #.What is it, 27 tracks on there? 25 of em bang!!? I'd take that ratio over most albums.Let alone, double albums. And you know Pac probably knocked that shyt out in less than a month.Brotha was a one of one.

Yea, he tried to use that Bear & the Rabbit Eddie Murphy joke and it sounded weird as fukk on that song.

:mjlol:

If he would have spit a third verse and left out that damn 3:00 minute phone convo it could have been a good single for the club.
Theres an unreleased remix with all new verses, a MWTC esque VHS was scheduled and Phone#, title track and Ambitionz were all gonna have music videos on it

From how I see it, if you were a Pac fan of his previous works most of it is filler. I say that because the songs may have been good or fit the album but in the context of Pac's entire catalog lots of those songs come off as filler. They aren't necessarily filler on the album but filler of his body of work. Hope that makes sense.

I personally don't like Wonder why they call you bytch, what's your phone number, all about you, Shorty Wanna Be a Thug, Thug passion, Run tha Streetz, Heaven Ain't Hard 2 Find. Even the radio versions to I ain't mad at cha and how do you want it are more enjoyable to me than the album versions. I'm not sure what's the big deal with this album. Yeah it had some hits but it's all over the place and has way too many features. It was something that was literally thrown together in a few days, doesn't seem like any real thought went into it and doesn't have any direction. I'm tempted to say it was a cash grab, a quick payday for Pac and DR. I know that Pac wanted it to be a Rap/R+B album too, I think it would have been better if it was just rap. I'm not fond of the west coast sound that was used either, I don't think Pac sounded that good on them. It was like a La sound and a Bay Area sound mixed together. Most of career his production was slightly weird and he utilized a strong East Coast sound throughout his career in addition to a West sound. He went right back to it on Makevelli. You don't have the political activism and the real essence of who Tupac is on AEOM. It doesn't fee like Pac if you know what I mean. I don't feel his heart was in this one.
Dap for at least flushing out your take even tho I disagree with it, imo Makaveli was a completely new sound not a return to his older sound, Pac was a chameleon tho and could rap to any kinda beat really.

Bulk of the recording was done in Novemeber and not to mention he made another double album worth of material that didn't make the album in 95 and he only got released in October

I can't front, just about all those songs are classic (besides what's your phone #), less so b/c of quality and more so b/c we've all heard them 1000 times.

We all know Pac was a workhorse try to get thru that 3 album contract as fast as possible so he was PUMPING out material, some filler (esp. the joints with hella guest appearances).

I love AEOM, but like any double album it's all over the place, lacking cohesion, and containing some mid-tier songs.
