YOUR Washington Bullets just became the first team in NBA HISTORY to win 49 games after starting the season at 2-8. The Bullets have had their best regular season since their last NBA Finals appearance in 1979 by capturing the Southeast Division. John Wall is the team's MVP but Bradley Beal's resurgent rise and dependability have made him perform at an All-Star level. Otto Porter led the league in 3 point percentage for much of the season. The Wizards have a much more capable bench albeit with defensive holes. Kelly Oubre and Ian Mahinmi are the two anchors defensively for the bench.
The ATL Hawks come in as the 5th seed. They are surging at the perfect time with a signature W coming back from 26 points down vs. the NBA Champion Cavs and capturing their seeding with a route of the BobHornets. This is a different Hawks team with the core moving from Horford to Howard. The defense is top 4... but the offense is bottom 4 in the entire league. A much different dynamic than the 60 win team of 2 short years ago.
Will the Wizards offense remain in gear? Can they lock in defensively?
Can the Hawks play better offense and get multiple possessions? Will their defense stay disciplined and engaged?
