tomb raider tries to be a real game and not an interactive movie :yeshrug:
:rudy: This is just false. I have both games, there's pretty much a qte and button prompts heavily spread throughout the game. I'm always befuddled whenever i see this weird opinion because it sounds like it's just made up at the spur of the moment.

I did. The character development was horrible and made me not care about anything going on. I just couldn't find an ounce of caring for anyone in the game. Heck, when that old guy died it was almost as if i was being trolled. Why would I care about someone barely knew? I thought that part of the game was handled terribly and it's the main reason why I can't take it seriously despite it having serviceable gameplay. I tried playing the game over and i just end up tweaking the gfx instead of playing.

different strokes... but i felt differently..

when that old irish dude... sacrificed himself for the group... and told lara to get it in... i felt something...

ive played so many one player games... i thought the tomb raider story was definitely one of the better ones.

Ok. also the mp in tr was just throwaway. Terrible. The gameplay just didn't feel cohesive and fluid online.

The characters all a bunch of stereotypes and tropes.

The single mother black woman with the attitude
The spiritual samoan who can talk to the fish and the wind and shyt.
The computer nerd with the secret crush on Laura.
The Archeologist/TV guy who clearly was complete tool. He mind as well wore a shirt that said "I'm the douchebag character"

I swear some of you just say shyt for the sake of saying it. :pachaha:

This. Nobody can name two characters outside Lara Croft. I fukking dare them. Gameplay was nothing groundbreaking. Just move from one area, collect whatever boring garbage appeared on the map, shooting gallery, next area. Lara transformation from scared little girl to gun blasting heroine in two minutes was :childplease: Story was silly. Reminded me of cannibal holocaust. Now TLOU :banderas: You cared about every character that appeared on screen. Ellie, Joel, Bill, Sam, Henry, David, Tessa, Marlene. All of them evoked emotion and feelings instead of just people in Joel/Ellie world. Even Ish, the character who survived in the sewers, had fans begging for the DLC to be about him. Gameplay also varied depending on the parts you collected, enemy type, etc. You could not approach a human the same way you would approach a clicker.

The winter chapter in tlou did more in pretty much all aspects than the entirety of tomb raider.
