What game or series did you buy on a whim and fell in love with?

[Neuromancer]

I fell in love with Machine games Wolfenstein and by virtue fell in love with Doom.

I don't usually play FPS games. Never really cared for them. But Wolfenstien was on sale and I found the story to be compelling and the gameplay enjoyable.

After beating the series I went on to play Doom (3 and 2016 respectively.) The story's not as compelling but the lore is really good.

Ys Origin

I’d heard of the series because of weebs hyping YS VIII on forums. Watched a gameplay video and wasn’t too impressed, mostly because of the generic art direction and low production values for a vita/ps4 game.

One day I was browsing the Xbox live store deals and saw YS Origin on sale. I looked at the trailer and screenshots and I was instantly sold.
