Pretty Tony has great production w/ a soul vibe throughout but the lyrics took a step back. After people saying he didn't make sense on Supreme Clientele, Ghost took it a little to much to heart, he then made an album of all concept & story tracks in Bulletproof Wallets. When that didn't do well (more due to Sony fukking up than anything) Ghost pulled back lyrically on the album. It's still very enjoyable but you don't get that same album of standout Ghost verses like you did on previous works. He comes back around on the Fish sessions.
Wizard of Poetry's problem is he made it a modern R&B album of that time when it should have been a throwback soul album. He did that throwback vibe for some tracks but that era R&B was not my shyt so I wasn't with it, although Ghost put his all into this album so props on his performance.

Ghostface is one of the most prolific writers of all time.
I could give a fukk if his team writes an ovcasional track for him. Thats their job as a team. Guys sending all types of shyt for checks this way, you expect him to want to even write to half the shyt he gets asked to? Thats not how good music works.
The perb shyt was way blown outta proportion. If perb wrote 2 verses on supreme that was it or bpw each that was it max. They had a deadline to finish an album and ghost was in jail. If anything he looked superb out.

Yes i do. And i dont get that either. Music is a collaborative process. Imo drake has done enough to warrant his status. Guys in his position get songs done for them. Thats just the music industry 101.
Even the most talented guys have help. Personell on drakes album wikis same amount of people as kendrick and others.
I think people who shyt in drake snd big up ghost are also kinda off base as well. And ghost is my goat. And i think the way people shyt on drake, and big up kendrick like he dont have the same 75 of best musicians, engineers, producers, rappers and singers (and dre) behind him; like he did it all by himself yet drake got help. My only gripe with Wizard of Poetry is that it doesn't flow like the rest of Ghost's albums. It really does seem like a collection of singles, fitting to a theme instead of an album. But I said then and now that it's a true gem. Pretty Toney has a couple of missteps but it also it great. And Tooken Back with Jackie O should've been a single.
