My son would have answered it, he stay on 80's and 90's R&B mode.
I found out during covid when the kids were all home. I come in from work and can here the music bumping upstairs. I'm thinking my wife is up there jamming. Go up and find my son playing Mario kart with R&B bumping
:ohhh:

Said he remembers them from me always playing them in the car and he found a play list that he ripped from youtube
:manny:

Yea, some. You wouldn't have known every last song that was a top 50 billboard hit from 1960 to 1969 before you graduated high school.
There's like 7 Boyz 2 Men songs that were bigger hits than Motownphilly anyway.
Motown Philly was a major mainstream song. Motown Philly is like the song that launched them into the next level. Like i said, if you name some major black song from the 60s or 70s we would have gotten it within a few people.

-I raised my kids & they wouldn't know this song either. I never liked "Motown Philly" so it never got play in my house. Only people failed are the ones who keep thinking all Black people like the same shyt.

i bet cac kids know the answer.

its like how jazz became a cac art form right in front of us. we create something, it becomes popular, then we let others curate and appreciate it. sad

Low key happening with R&B type music too.

Mac Ayers, Charlotte Day Wilson, Nick Hakim, Jordan Rakei all dope and most of them I ain’t know were white at first

This is like expecting us to know Earth Wind And Fire at that age. I didn’t know any of those songs Steve Harvey played in that segment in Kings Of Comedy.

Hilarious that the white kids didn’t even attempt the answer, they just did the lap.

i knew songs that were decades older than me… that said, I’m hoping those boys weren’t from Philly… that would make it bad. But there aren’t many songs from Boys 2 men catalog that I just have to revisit.
